Turnover improved marginally to Rs 52,107.86 crore on Wednesday in F&O segment on the NSE against Monday’s figure of Rs 51,644 crore, as rollover of open interest positions from April to May series improved substantially.
Nifty April future closed in premium of about eight points at 5031.1 against the spot close of 5022.8, while the Nifty May future closed with a larger premium at 5040.1. Rollover of open interest positions improved to 62 per cent.
Options
Among the May options, Nifty 5000, 4800 strikes were most active among puts and 5000-strike was the most active among calls. Puts saw sharp accumulations when compared to calls, indicating a negative bias for the market in May.
Stock futures
Reliance was the most active followed by RPL, Tata Steel, RNRL, Reliance Capital, IFCI, ICICI Bank and DLF. IFCI maintained momentum as its April future closed with a sharp gain of 4.23 per cent at 61.55 against the spot close of 61.50. Rollover stood at 66 per cent and the IFCI May future closed at Rs 62.
Reliance Industries saw a rollover of about 62 per cent, while for RPL it stood at 54 per cent. The market-wide rollover also remained subdued at 58-60 per cent.
